Reunion cover

Reunion, released in 1994, is a project from Bill Emerson, the Washington DC-area banjo player who was among the most technically accomplished and stylistically versatile instrumentalists of his generation. Emerson had recorded and performed with the Country Gentlemen in their formative years and with numerous other groups, accumulating a reputation as a musician's musician whose playing was always in service of the ensemble rather than self-display. A reunion project at this stage implied a gathering of collaborators from across that long history, a revisiting of repertoire and relationships that had shaped the Potomac Valley scene.
