Rhonda Vincent grew up in a musical family in Kirksville, Missouri, performing from an early age before developing into one of the most decorated vocalists in contemporary bluegrass. She recorded for Rounder Records during a formative stretch of her career that brought her widespread recognition, releasing a series of albums that showcased her powerful soprano voice and her command of both traditional and contemporary bluegrass material. The International Bluegrass Music Association named her Female Vocalist of the Year multiple times, and she has also received recognition for her mandolin playing and her work as a bandleader with her group the Rage.

Vincent later established Upper Management Music as her own imprint, giving her greater control over her recordings and releases. In 2024, she released a cover of "Wagon Wheel" on Upper Management Music — a song that had become a standard in Americana and country circles through the Old Crow Medicine Show version and Darius Rucker's widely heard recording. Vincent's recording placed the song within a bluegrass vocal framework, drawing on her characteristic clarity and the instrumental precision of the Rage. The release extended a career that has spanned decades and multiple labels while remaining consistently rooted in the acoustic bluegrass tradition that first brought her to prominence.
