Adam Haynes
Adam Haynes is a fiddler who played in the Grascals for nearly ten years, from 2013 to 2023, and has been the fiddler in Rhonda Vincent & the Rage since February 2023. Before the Grascals he was the first touring fiddler of Dailey & Vincent and worked with David Parmley & Continental Divide, the James King Band, Larry Stephenson and Grasstowne.
His early work included David Parmley & Continental Divide and the James King Band. In 2007 he joined Dailey & Vincent as fiddler when the new duo began touring, after its first album had been recorded, and he appears as a guest on its Dailey & Vincent Sing the Statler Brothers (2010). He then played with the Larry Stephenson Band and, for about three and a half years from around 2010, with Alan Bibey’s Grasstowne.
In October 2013 the Grascals, two days after announcing that their long-time fiddler Jeremy Abshire was leaving, named Haynes as his replacement. He stayed through several lineup changes and is on the band’s later albums, among them Up All Night (2021), with John Bryan, Chris Davis, Kristin Scott Benson, Danny Roberts and Terry Smith. Jamie Harper took over the fiddle in January 2023. He also plays on Benson’s instrumental album Stringworks (2016), sharing the fiddle with Jim VanCleve, and on Daryl Mosley’s The Secret of Life, Small Town Dreamer and A Life Well Lived.
Rhonda Vincent announced in February 2023 that he had joined the Rage, several months after Hunter Berry left, alongside Mickey Harris, Aaron McDaris, Jeff Partin and Zack Arnold. On her 2026 album A Possibility he plays fiddle and bass, and rhythm guitar on one track. SPBGMA nominated him for Fiddle Performer of the Year in 2026.
