The Mountains Are Calling Me Home is a 2017 album by Junior Sisk and Ramblers Choice released on Mountain Fever Records (MFR 170324). Virginia-born Junior Sisk—who first gained recognition as a songwriter for the Lonesome River Band in the early 1990s before building his own band—leads an ensemble of Jason Davis (banjo), Jamie Harper (fiddle, vocals), Jonathan Dillon (mandolin, vocals), Kameron Keller (bass, vocals), and guitarist-producer Aaron Ramsey, who recorded and mixed the album at Mountain Fever Studio. The band's second Mountain Fever release, it follows Poor Boy's Pleasure (2016), winner of IBMA's 2016 Recorded Event of the Year for "Longneck Blues," and draws material from Ronnie Bowman, Tim Stafford, and the Stanley Brothers alongside Sisk originals. The eleven-track set is widely regarded as the most fully realized record of Sisk's career.
