John Bowman is a North Carolina-born multi-instrumentalist and tenor singer whose Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver tenure (1991), seat in J.D. Crowe and the New South, and founding role in The Boxcars made him one of the most flexible utility musicians on the contemporary bluegrass circuit — later turning to Christian ministry.
