Joe Maphis
Joe Maphis was an American country guitarist and singer.
- Born Otis Wilson Maphis on May 12, 1921; died on June 27, 1986.
- Was known as the “King of the Strings” for his flashy double-neck-guitar playing.
- Pioneered the flatpicking of fiddle tunes on guitar.
- Was a regular on the Los Angeles television show Town Hall Party through the 1950s and a duo partner of his wife, Rose Lee Maphis.
