“Raining in L.A.” was written by Wes Golding, who released it with his band on a 1986 album. IIIrd Tyme Out later took it up, recording it for their 1995 album “Letter to Home.”
The song is a long-distance heartbreak number. Far from home in Los Angeles, with the rain coming down, the singer is overtaken by thoughts of a love left behind; the gray weather of the city mirrors his loneliness.
Russell Moore’s clear lead voice carried the song for IIIrd Tyme Out. The version heard here is by IIIrd Tyme Out.
