Letter to Home, released by Rounder Records on October 3, 1995, was IIIrd Tyme Out's first album for the label — and the second album from the classic lineup of Russell Moore on guitar and lead vocals, Ray Deaton on bass and bass vocals, Wayne Benson on mandolin, Steve Dilling on banjo, and Mike Hartgrove on fiddle. The program includes Raining in L.A., New Faces in the Field, Can't Say Goodbye, and the title track. The Rounder signing positioned the band for the run of IBMA Vocal Group of the Year wins that would soon define them; for the working players, the Rounder catalog became their primary home for the next decade and beyond.
