Songs from “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”

Bluegrass-canon songs from the 2000 Coen Brothers soundtrack

9 songs

The Coen Brothers’ 2000 film “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” had a soundtrack curated by T Bone Burnett that pulled traditional songs from bluegrass, old-time, gospel, and Delta blues. The album won the 2002 Grammy for Album of the Year, sold more than eight million copies, and triggered a major revival of interest in traditional American music. Nine of the soundtrack’s bluegrass-canon songs are in our catalog — “I’m a Man of Constant Sorrow,” “I’ll Fly Away,” “Down to the River to Pray,” “Angel Band,” “Keep on the Sunny Side,” “You Are My Sunshine,” “Big Rock Candy Mountains,” “I Am Weary (Let Me Rest),” and “In the Highways.”

Each song’s page on Picker’s Guide has chord charts, lyrics, recordings, and song history.
