Ronnie Rice (also credited as Ron Rice) is the youngest of the four Rice brothers — the upright bassist on the two Rice Brothers albums in the early 1990s and on Mark Johnson's "Clawgrass" project, alongside older brothers Tony, Larry, and Wyatt.
- Youngest of the four Rice brothers, sons of mandolin player Herb Rice; the brothers split the family's instruments — Tony and Wyatt on guitar, Larry on mandolin, and Ronnie on upright bass.
- Appeared on the two Rice Brothers albums (1992 and 1994), which paired Tony with elder brother Larry and younger brothers Wyatt and Ronnie.
- Featured on Mark Johnson's 1994 "Clawgrass: Mark Johnson with the Rice Brothers and Friends," again with Tony, Larry, and Wyatt.
- Distinct from the bassist Ronnie Simpkins, who appears in the Tony Rice Unit on "Mar West," "Still Inside," and "Backwaters" — Simpkins is not a Rice brother and is sometimes confused in casual sourcing.
- Has not been the subject of a dedicated profile in standard bluegrass biographical references; coverage is largely incidental to his brothers' careers.
