“I Might Take You Back Again” is a song recorded by the Kentucky Colonels, the California bluegrass band that featured the guitarist Clarence White. It appeared on the band’s mid-1960s recordings.
The song is a wary love song. The singer, hurt by a partner who left, holds the door open only part way: he might take her back, the lyric says, but the offer comes guarded, the trust not yet restored.
The song carried into the wider bluegrass repertoire.
