Forty Years of Trouble (Strictly Country Records SCR 51) was issued in the Netherlands in 2001 as a 15-track CD by Bob Paisley and the Southern Grass. The Bluegrass Discography dates all fifteen tracks to May 1994 and gives the place as Harpel, the Netherlands, and Discogs lists the release as Forty Years of Trouble – Live. The band had been known as Ted Lundy, Bob Paisley and the Southern Mountain Boys until Lundy’s death, after which it became Bob Paisley and the Southern Grass. Paisley died in 2004 and his son Danny has fronted the band since; later issues of the CD credit Dan Paisley and the Southern Grass.
Bob Paisley and Danny Paisley play guitar and sing, Bobby Lundy plays banjo and sings, Jon Glik plays fiddle and Hendrik Arend (spelled Ahrend on Discogs) plays bass. The program includes “Sundown and Sorrow,” “Florida Blues,” “Footprints in the Snow,” “Kentucky Waltz,” “Prison Walls of Love” “Hop High Ladies” and “Bill Cheatham,” along with the title song.
