The Magnificent Music Machine is a 1976 album released by Tom T. Hall on Mercury Records (SRM-1-1111). Hall (vocals) assembled a studio who's-who of Nashville bluegrass and country pickers: J.D. Crowe (banjo), Buddy Spicher, Johnny Gimble, and Kenny Baker (fiddles), Ray Edenton (guitar), and Bob Moore (bass), with Jimmy Martin contributing harmony vocals. Bill Monroe guests on mandolin for a version of "Molly and Tenbrooks." The single "Fox on the Run" reached number nine on the country charts. Note: Bill Monroe is listed in the catalog as a primary personnel member, but he appears on a single track as a guest; the recording throughout is Tom T. Hall's.
