Scott Nygaard is an Ohio-born, Bay Area-based flatpicking guitarist whose seats in Laurie Lewis & Grant Street, Tim O'Brien's O'Boys, and Darol Anger's Republic of Strings, plus production and editorial work at Acoustic Guitar magazine and Peghead Nation, have placed him among the most influential acoustic-music educators on the West Coast.

- Grammy-winning flatpick guitarist active in bluegrass/acoustic music for 30+ years.
- Member of Laurie Lewis & Grant Street 1988–1991.

- Co-founder of Darol Anger's Republic of Strings; recorded "Generation Nation."
