Travis Book
Travis Book is a Colorado-raised, North Carolina-based upright bassist, lead vocalist, and principal songwriter of The Infamous Stringdusters — a Grammy winner ("Laws of Gravity," 2017) who now hosts a weekly live show and podcast in Brevard, NC.
- Upright bassist, lead-and-harmony vocalist, and a principal songwriter of The Infamous Stringdusters.
- Auditioned and joined the Stringdusters in fall 2005, the band's original bassist; had been residing in Durango, Colorado at the time.
- Raised in Palmer Lake, Colorado; now based in Brevard, North Carolina.
- Co-recipient of the 2018 Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album ("Laws of Gravity"); 2022 Grammy nomination for "A Tribute to Bill Monroe."
- Released his rock-Americana solo debut "Love and Other Strange Emotions" marking two decades with the Stringdusters.
- Hosts the weekly "Travis Book Happy Hour" live show at 185 King St. in Brevard, NC and a companion podcast featuring artist interviews.
- Performs as a duo with bandmate Andy Falco and leads The Travis Book Band; occasionally reunites with his earlier band Broke Mountain Bluegrass.
- Plays Upton upright bass and is also active on acoustic guitar and electric bass.
