On the Road (and More) cover

The Country Gentlemen's On the Road (and More), originally released on Folkways Records (FA 2411) in 1963 and expanded in a 2001 Smithsonian Folkways reissue, documents the band's defining early-1960s lineup at live performances. Charlie Waller plays guitar and sings; John Duffey, mandolin and tenor vocals; Eddie Adcock, banjo; Tom Gray, upright bass. Material was drawn from 1962–63 concerts and from the group's September 1961 Carnegie Hall "Hootenanny" appearance—the first major bluegrass concert at that venue. The Duffey-Waller-Adcock-Gray configuration is the most celebrated in the band's history, and this live document—recorded in the midst of the folk revival—is one of its most essential surviving records.
