The Lonesome Pine Fiddlers
The Lonesome Pine Fiddlers were an American bluegrass band from the Bluefield, West Virginia, area, one of the early bands to take up the bluegrass style.
- Were organized in 1938 by Ezra Cline and adopted the bluegrass sound around 1949.
- Served as an early proving ground for musicians including Bobby Osborne, Melvin and Ray Goins, and Curly Ray Cline.
- Recorded the bluegrass standards “Windy Mountain” and “Brown Eyed Darling.”
- Were inducted into the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame in 2009.
