Dailey and Vincent
Dailey & Vincent is one of the most commercially successful bluegrass bands of the past two decades — a quartet-plus-backing-band built around the vocal partnership of Jamie Dailey (tenor, guitar) and Darrin Vincent (baritone, bass). Their blend of traditional bluegrass, Southern gospel, and Statler Brothers-style country has earned three Grammy nominations, multiple IBMA Entertainer of the Year awards, and membership in the Grand Ole Opry.
- Jamie Dailey spent nine years as the tenor in Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver. Darrin Vincent (brother of Rhonda Vincent) spent thirteen years as bassist for Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder. They left their longtime bands simultaneously to form the duo in 2007.
- Self-titled debut Dailey & Vincent (Rounder, 2008) swept the 2008 IBMA Awards, winning Emerging Artist, Album of the Year, Vocal Group, and Entertainer of the Year — unprecedented for a debut act.
- Brothers from Different Mothers (Rounder, 2009) debuted at #1 on the Billboard bluegrass chart; the duo won IBMA Entertainer of the Year three years running (2008, 2009, 2010).
- Singing from the Heart (2009) was a bluegrass gospel album; Dailey & Vincent Sing the Statler Brothers (2010) launched their country-gospel side and reached #6 on the Billboard country chart.
- Subsequent albums: The Gospel Side of Dailey & Vincent (2011), The Sounds of Christmas (2011), Brothers of the Highway (2013), Alive! In Concert (2014), Dailey & Vincent Sing the Songs of Jamey Johnson (2014, with songs hand-picked by Jamey Johnson), The Christmas Entertainers (2015), Patriots and Poets (2017), The Sounds of Recording (2019), and Let's Sing Some Country (2023).
- Became Grand Ole Opry members on March 11, 2017 — joining the select group of bluegrass artists in that distinction.
- Host their own TV series The Dailey & Vincent Show on RFD-TV, broadcast into millions of homes.
- The backing band has included Jeff Parker (mandolin), Jessie Baker (banjo), Bob Mummert (drums), Joe Dean Jr (banjo, guitar), Jason Moyer (bass), Alex Dapo, and others over the years.
- Deep gospel roots — Dailey's father was a gospel-quartet singer, Vincent grew up in the Sally Mountain Show gospel family band — give the duo's four-part harmony work a distinctively Southern-gospel feel that sets them apart from most contemporary bluegrass groups.
