Randy Scruggs
Randy Scruggs was a Tennessee-born guitarist, songwriter, and producer — Earl Scruggs's middle son, a four-time Grammy winner, and three-time CMA Musician of the Year whose Scruggs Sound Studio anchored Nashville sessions for nearly four decades.
- Born August 3, 1953; middle son of Earl Scruggs and Louise Scruggs; recorded his first track at age 13.
- Won four Grammy Awards over his career.
- Named CMA Musician of the Year three times (1999, 2003, 2006).
- Released early albums in 1970 and 1972 with older brother Gary as the Scruggs Brothers.
- Founded Scruggs Sound Studio in Nashville in 1980, which hosted major sessions until being sold in 2018.
- Produced and played guitar on Earl Scruggs's later projects, including the 2001 album "Earl Scruggs and Friends."
