Aoife O'Donovan
Aoife O'Donovan is a Boston-born singer, songwriter, and guitarist whose Crooked Still founding-vocalist seat, I'm With Her trio with Sara Watkins and Sarah Jarosz, and four solo albums on Yep Roc have made her one of the most distinctive voices of contemporary roots music — a Grammy winner and Best Folk Album nominee.
- Born Aoife Maria O'Donovan on November 18, 1982 in Boston; grew up in Newton, Massachusetts and spent summers in Ireland with extended family.
- Studied contemporary improvisation at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston.
- Co-founded the progressive string band Crooked Still in 2001 with Corey DiMario (bass), Rushad Eggleston (cello), and Gregory Liszt (banjo); served as the band's lead vocalist.
- Member of the trio I'm With Her with Sara Watkins and Sarah Jarosz, formed after an impromptu set at the 2014 Telluride Bluegrass Festival; debut album "See You Around" released February 16, 2018.
- Won the 2020 Grammy for Best American Roots Song with I'm With Her for "Call My Name."
- Solo studio albums on Yep Roc: "Fossils" (2013), "In the Magic Hour" (2016), "Age of Apathy" (2022, Best Folk Album Grammy nomination), and "All My Friends" (2024).
