Jason Burleson is a North Carolina-born banjoist and bass singer who has held the banjo chair in Blue Highway since the band's founding on December 31, 1994 — a multi-instrumentalist who also plays mandolin and guitar, and the namesake of a Prucha Bluegrass Instruments signature banjo released in 2015.
- Founding member of Blue Highway; band played its first show December 31, 1994 in Kingsport, Tennessee.
- Multi-instrumentalist: also plays mandolin, rhythm guitar, and bass guitar.
- Provides bass vocals (described as "growling bass vocals") in Blue Highway.
- Began playing banjo at age 11 after his father R.Z. encouraged him; cousin Jeter Griffith taught him.
