- Long-time member of Vince Gill's band for roughly 25 years; brought out on tours with George Jones and Conway Twitty and onto the Grand Ole Opry stage.
- Released two solo albums he also produced: "The White Album" (1996) and "The Broken Road" (1999).
- Active songwriter; songs recorded by The Del McCoury Band, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Dale Ann Bradley, The Infamous Stringdusters, and Dan Tyminski; one cut earned an IBMA Song of the Year nomination.
